Work – My learnings and reflections so far…
0Over past nine months, there have been many events, learnings and reflections that has happened. However, I never really had the time to post about them until now. This post will detail my experiences, learnings and reflections over the past two months at work. Why? It is because this has impacted me the most as a person.
[Learnings and Reflection] National Training Event 2010 – Canberra – Talk 3: How Christians Preserve Gospel Priorities
0Hey guys, I’m back to blogging again! Been having a pretty busy few weeks (and lots of gaming) but yeah I’m back to blog again! This is talk 3
Don Carson – Talk 3: How Christians Preserve Gospel Priorities
FOCUS
2 Timothy 2:3-26
To preserve the Gospel is to focus on the Gospel.
Carson opens up reiterating his key message from his previous talk: “Preserve the Gospel”. And thus presents us with the question: if Christians are to preserve the Gospel, where should they focus their attention? And thus how should Christians preserve Gospel priorities?
[Learnings and Reflection] National Training Event 2010 – Canberra – Talk 2: How Christians Preserve The Gospel
0Don Carson – Talk 2: How Christians Preserve the Gospel
PRESERVE
2 Timothy 1:1-2:2
The first of the Don Carson talks.
He opens by presenting us with the question “How do Christians preserve the Gospel?”
[Learnings and Reflection] National Training Event 2010 – Canberra – Talk 1: Entrusted With the Gospel
0Entrusted with the Gospel.
The theme of NTE 2010. This posts will detail the main sessions with talks given by Richard Chin and Don Carson. As a Christian, what does it mean to be entrusted with the Gospel? Our churches keep telling us to go tell people about Jesus, what are some of the things do we need to be aware of? Or is it a “just do it” type of command? What do non-Christians view this as? We get told off for being pushy, Bible bashes, ignorant, dumb, brain-washed, etc. What is this gospel we are telling people about and how does it fit in with the rest of the Bible?
These were some of the questions that went through my head as I went to NTE and listened to what was being taught. Here in this post is a summary of what was taught and my thoughts and views on what was taught as well as things that I will aim to change to do.

[Recount] National Training Event 2010 – Canberra
0National Training Event 2010 (NTE 2010)
A conference that happens every year in December when uni students are in holidays. It aims is to:
The aim of NTE is to spur students on to transform Australia and the world through radical, joyful, self-sacrificial living for the glory of Christ.
It is a 9 day camp where we spend 4 and a half days in Canberra’s EPIC (Exhibition Park in Canberra) and 4 and a half days with a church community when we get sent off to mission. Campus Bible Study’s Commerce Faculty was sent to Rosemeadow, NSW which is next to Campbelltown. A suburb on the very border of the city and country. Quite simply, it has the best of both worlds, but more on that later.
This post will be talking about my time in Canberra, so it’s more of a recount. The next post will detail more on what I learnt and my reflection upon what I’ve learnt. The guest speaker for this conference is Don Carson. A very big gun. So big, he’s got his own wiki entry. Have a look here.
So in other words, I came to this NTE with high expectations, and in short, I was not disappointed. (Don’t worry, I didn’t go JUST to hear Carson
)
